The NY Obesity Prevention Center for Excellence (OPCE) strengthens the collective impact of grantees and their partners in improving New Yorkers' health by increasing access to healthy foods and opportunities for physical activity.

  • September 30th marked the end of the five-year Creating Healthy Schools and Communities (CHSC) grant. Over the last five years, CHSC grantees have strengthened food systems, increased opportunities for physical activity, and promoted wellness policies and practices in schools, worksites, hospitals, and community organizations. Thanks to these efforts, schools and communities across NYS are more resilient, healthier places to live, learn, work, and play. Congratulations to the CHSC grantees and the NYS Department of Public Health for a remarkable last 5 years!
