The NY Obesity Prevention Center for Excellence (OPCE) strengthens the collective impact of grantees and their partners in improving New Yorkers' health by increasing access to healthy foods and opportunities for physical activity.

  • In 2016, a survey collected by healthiKIDS highlighted that 41% of Rochester’s youth wanted to see more musical and playful features along the walkway between Central Library and MLK Park. In response, Common Ground Health helped secure funding and supported the construction of features such as a foosball tables, bright seating, musical instruments, a large Connect Four and more. This month, Rochester celebrated the grand opening of the playwalk, complete with a ribbon cutting ceremony and representation from local government.
