Access to drinking water in schools is part of a supportive school nutrition environment. Providing access to drinking water gives students a healthy alternative to sugar-sweetened beverages, helps to increase students’ overall water consumption, and maintain hydration which is important for learning. Presenters from the CDC, Harvard, and UC San Francisco will describe the benefits of providing students with access to drinking water during the school day, successful strategies for addressing water access in schools, and tools to support these changes.
