Innovative Applications of Food & Nutrition Standards

December 12, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

This 90-minute webinar will highlight creative strategies from organizations across various public, private, and institutional settings in New York State that are applying food and nutrition standards in community settings. Topics will include innovative food procurement, healthy food retail standards, applying nutrition standards to emergency meals for people with specific health conditions, and healthier food for college students.

Audience

General public, staff at local health departments, hospitals, local governmental units, and community-based organizations

Learning Objectives

After participating in the webinar, you will be able to:

  1. Understand the difference between food standards and nutrition standards
  2. Share stories of novel and successful food and nutrition standards projects from local health departments and community organizations around New York State

This will be a presentation by several organizations and municipalities, including staff from the New York State Department of Health, Nutrition Standards Workgroup member of the New York State Council on Hunger and Food Policy, the Clinton County local health department, God’s Love We Deliver, and Farm to Institution New York State.
