The social pattern of low physical activity participation rates is similar to that of other social determinants of health. This presentation will explore the historic potential root causes of physical inactivity among many diverse groups today. Brief examples of low physical inactivity among certain groups will be given. The presentation will conclude with key questions that should be addressed and recommended strategies used throughout the nine sectors of the National Physical Activity Plan to achieve health equity through physical activity.
