Update on the Health and Education Landscape

This timely webinar will provide a “mid-year” update on the federal and state health and education policy–and what it means for advancing the learning and health connection. Key topics that will be addressed include the implications of the President’s FY 2020 budget, trends in state health and education policies and priorities, opportunities and challenges in Medicaid for supporting the health of children and families, including Medicaid waivers, opportunities to expand access to behavioral health services and implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act.

Objectives

Provide an overview of whatâ??s happening at the intersection of education in Medicaid–in Congress, in HHS/ED, and in the states
Clearly articulate the opportunities to advance good policy at the federal and state level as well as identify threats
Describe policy trends at the state level that impact health and education
Describe what advocates need to know about federal regulatory and legislative efforts that touch health/Medicaid and education
Offer opportunities to be involved and to engage in policy making
