The Obesity Prevention Center for Excellence (OPCE) provides free training and technical assistance (TA) to support Creating Healthy Schools and Communities (CHSC) grantees in achieving initiative goals to increase demand for and access to healthy, affordable foods and opportunities for daily physical activity. Training and TA are mutually reinforcing capacity building activities. Training strives to build coordinator and stakeholder core competencies and organizational capacities to effectively implement CHSC strategies. TA provides for free, in-depth assistance in a focused area to an individual grantee or group of grantees, with an eye toward practical application of evidence-based strategies targeting CHSC SMART objectives. Training and TA are offered through various modalities, including conferences, webinars, cluster calls, phone consultations and site visits.
